Afternoon. A Sunday edition, because a lot starts tomorrow: two weeks of half-term for the secondary schools, UKPN's signals on Hook Road, and Kingston Market is expected to start reopening. Then today, and the week day by day.
The signals near the Maypole since Friday look like a separate utility repair, not UKPN. TfL lists two-way signals at Ash Tree Close until Friday 23 October, and permit data shows an emergency Scotia Gas Networks job there. UKPN's own two-way signals near Rickards Close are still due from 8am tomorrow until 27 November, with a lane closure south of the A3 from Thursday to 19 November.
Also on TfL's list but not the council's: signals on Upper Brighton Road at Lovelace Gardens until Thursday, and a lane closed on Hook Road at Elmcroft Drive for UKPN until 19 November.
Elsewhere: Kingston Market is still expected to start reopening tomorrow, per the council's 14 October statement; traders who lost their stalls in the fire will take longer. Bargain World is still reported to be opening on Victoria Road tomorrow, with nothing from the company yet. Corinthian-Casuals beat Wallingford & Crowmarsh 3-0 yesterday. Thames Water's hosepipe ban is still in force.
Trains: no engineering works on the Surbiton, Chessington or Hampton Court lines from tomorrow to Friday. On Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 October an hourly Waterloo to Reading train is diverted and calls additionally at Surbiton.
Hollyfield School, Southborough, Kingston Academy and Surbiton High are off for two weeks from tomorrow, back on Monday 2 November. Several primaries, including King Athelstan, are off for one week from Monday 26 October; Holy Cross is off from Friday 23rd.
Surbiton Hockey Club's camps run Monday to Thursday and again 26 to 29 October, 9 to 4, £64 a day or £32 a half-day. Chessington's Howl'o'ween is open 10 to 6, then 10 to 7 from Friday. Hampton Court hasn't published its hours for the coming week; its Halloween starts on Saturday, included in admission. Hook Library's Imagination Station is back on Wednesday, 4 to 5, free, no booking.
Kingston Orchard Project's grow-your-own session at Knollmead allotments in Tolworth, 2 to 4, no experience needed. Joao Mello at the Lamb at 5. St Andrew's installs its new vicar, the Rev Chris Rankine, at 6, led by the Bishop of Kingston. Quizzes at the Elm Tree and the Antelope, both 7.30. Showers, more likely from about 5. High of 15°C.

Tuesday: St Mark's starts collecting warm coats, hats, scarves and gloves for WrapUp London, Tuesday to Friday, 9 to 5, until 19 November; helpers are needed on Saturdays from 24 October, 12.30 to 2. Light rain, 14.
Wednesday: the Mothers' Union at St Mark's, tea from 2, talk on a trip to Durban at 2.30, all welcome. Cloudy and gusty, 14.

Friday: Whole Lotta Comedy at the cornerHOUSE at 8. Showers and gusty, 13.
Saturday: nature crafts at Surbiton Library, 10.30, ages 3 to 8, free, booking required, places left. Lego free build at Tolworth Library, 2 to 4, and Hook, 2 to 3. The Fabulous Red Diesel at the Lamb, 7.30. Overcast, 14.
Sunday 25 October: the clocks go back an hour at 2am. Week three of grow-your-own at Knollmead, 2 to 4. Back of a Length at the Lamb at 4.30 and Elsie Franklin at 7. Wet, 17, on an early forecast.
Have a good week.
