Afternoon. Signs for a Portsmouth Road closure have gone up that the council hasn't listed, and Lamberts Road is now shut. Then the weather and next week.
Portsmouth Road: Sarah drove along it on Tuesday and saw signs for a seven-week closure, with a diversion up Brighton Road from 7 October. The council's roadworks list, last updated 2 October, doesn't show one. In September it listed an SGN closure between The Mall and Simpsons Way, 5 October to 19 November, and that entry has since gone. No SGN notice has turned up. If you've seen the road shut or the signs, reply and tell me.
Lamberts Road is now closed, from Wednesday 7 October until 13 November. TfL has the K4 on diversion in both directions for the whole period.
Tolworth Broadway: TfL closes a lane near the filling station on Friday 23 October to cut traffic loops.
Tonight: sunny intervals, 16, with a 50% chance of rain at 9.
Friday: overcast and gusty, 19, with a 30% chance of rain at 9am.
Saturday: sunny and breezy, 16.
Sunday: sunny intervals, 16, with little chance of rain. The King's Soup in Claremont Gardens has live music until 4.30, a play and a charity bar. Ski Sunday can be done solo or in teams of three. Week one of a grow-your-own-food course is at Knollmead Allotments in Tolworth at 2.
Next week: The Wilderness Yet play the cornerHOUSE's monthly folk night on Tuesday 13, 7.45, £18. On Wednesday 14 and Thursday 15, the cornerHOUSE playwrights' group stages new plays, script in hand, half seven, £10 to £12, ages 14 and up.
The Surbiton Fox: the operators say they plan a Pickle Festival, quiz nights and the return of the psychic night once the pub reopens in November.
Back tomorrow.
