Morning. Two corrections first, then the Post Office's last four days, and the week.

Two corrections

There is no Celebrate Surbiton tomorrow or next Thursday. The September run finished on the 24th, whatever the council's events page says. Tim, who compiles the Surbiton Town Centre Partnership's What's On guide, set me straight. The next one is Celebrate Surbiton at Christmas on Thursday 3 December, 4.30 to 8, at the station on Victoria Road, with a children's trail to find Santa's reindeer, a best-dressed shop window competition, music, food, stalls and an outdoor bar. High street shops that want to take part can email info@surbitonpartnership.co.uk.

On Monday I said the council had approved the Fox and Hounds' licence changes. The hearing was on 22 September, and the council has not published its decision yet.

The Post Office, Saturday at 4

The counter in Morrisons Daily on Victoria Road closes at 4pm on Saturday, and no replacement has been announced. The Post Office points you to 104 Alexandra Drive in Berrylands, open 8 to 8 Monday to Saturday and 9 to 6 on Sunday, or the Budgens at 31 High Street, Thames Ditton, open 9 to 5 on weekdays and 9 to 1 on Saturday.

From the festival

Cate was there too, and says the games and activities for children were amazing, and all free. Her highlight, as a proud mum, was the BabyBallet performance in Claremont Gardens. She also says to catch the Seasick Landlubbers, who played after them, if they turn up locally again.

The week

It's also the last day to give the council your view on the Tolworth Close planter at kingstonletstalk.co.uk; the neighbourhood committee decides on 3 November. Quiz night at The Berrylands from half seven.

Friday: temporary lights go up outside 84 to 90 Villiers Avenue until 4 November. Bavarian night at the Flyer from half seven, free. The Soot Bunker, a two-night “anti-musical”, opens at the cornerHOUSE on Douglas Road, half seven, £15.

Saturday: the Post Office shuts at 4. Stitch Saturday at Surbiton Library, 10.30 to 12.30, free. The Forty Fives at the Flyer from nine, free. No farmers' market this week; it's back on 17 October. Dry and sunny, 22 degrees.

Sunday: junior parkrun at Alexandra Rec at nine. Quizzes at the Prince of Wales at seven, and at the Elm Tree, free, and the Antelope at half seven.

Next week: from Monday, Portsmouth Road is shut round the clock between The Mall and Simpsons Way for gas main work, until 19 November. Lamberts Road closes at the works by Villiers Path from Wednesday 7 October.

Worth booking: an evening of opera and song for Momentum Children's Charity at St Mark's Church on Sunday 18 October, 7pm. Tickets £28 plus a 75p booking fee on Ticket Tailor.

Back later in the week.
